Tallis Ordinal, C.M. [D]
| 1. |
1 Great is Jehovah, and His praise
Should be proclaimed abroad,
Within His hill of holiness,
The city of our God.
|
| 2. |
2 Mount Zion stands most beautiful,
The joy of every land.
The city of the mighty King
On her north side doth stand.
|
| 3. |
3 God's known among her palaces
To be her fortress high.
4 For, lo, the kings assembled there;
Together they passed by.
|
| 4. |
5 At what they saw they were amazed
And filled with great dismay.
So troubled were they at the sight
They turned and ran away.
|
| 5. |
6 With panic they were seized; they writhed
Like her whom birth pangs take.
7 For Thou with wind out of the east
Dost ships of Tarshish break.
