11 O come, my sons, give heed to me;
I'll teach Jehovah's fear.
12 Who longs for life and loves full days
That he may see good here?
13 Restrain your lips from speaking lies;
Keep back your tongue from ill;
14 Depart from evil, and do good;
Seek peace; pursue it still.

| 5. |
15 Upon the race of righteous men
The LORD has set His eye;
His ears are open unto them
That He may hear their cry.
16 The face of GOD is set against
All who do wickedly,
That He may fully from the earth
Cut off their memory.
|
| 6. |
17 The race of righteous men cry out;
The LORD to them gives ear;
Delivers them each one to free
From all their troubles here.
18 The LORD is always near to them
Who have a broken heart,
And He to those in spirit crushed
Salvation will impart.

| 7. |
19 The righteous many trials has;
From all the LORD sets free;
20 He keeps in safety all his bones;
Not one can broken be.
21 Ill shall the wicked slay; condemned
Are all who hate the just.
22 The LORD redeems His servants' souls;
Condemns none who Him trust.
