Psalm 16A: Psalm 16

Medfield, C.M. [D]

1. 1 Keep me, O God; I trust in Thee.
2 Jehovah, I confess
Thou art my Lord; apart from Thee
No good do I possess.

2. 3 I take delight in noble men;
I saints on earth hold high.
4 Those hastening to other gods
Their sorrows multiply.

3. Of their drink offerings of blood
I will no off'ring make.
Nor will I ever on my lips
The names of idols take.

4. 5 The LORD's the portion of my cup
And my inheritance.
Thou hast maintained my perfect lot,
Secured to me Thy grants.

5. 6 The lines that fell to me enclose
A very pleasant site;
The heritage that I received
To me is a delight

6. 7 I bless the LORD Who gives to me
The counsel that is right;
My heart within me He directs
To teach me in the night.

7. 8 I've set the LORD before my face,
And Him I'll always see.
Because He stands at my right hand
I never moved shall be.

8. 9 Because of this my heart is glad
And joy shall be expressed
By all my glory, and my flesh
In confidence shall rest.

9. 10 Because my soul in nether realms
Shall not be left by Thee;
Corruption Thou wilt not permit
Thy Holy One to see.

10. 11 Thou wilt me show the path of life.
Thy presence holds great store
Of lasting joy; at Thy right hand
Are pleasures evermore.
