Psalm 14C: Psalm 14

Old 128th, 76.76.D. [E]

1. 1 The fool is saying in his heart,
        "There surely is no God."
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile,
        Not one of them does good.

2. 2 The LORD upon the sons of men
        From heaven looks abroad
To see if any understands,
        If any seeks for God.

3. 3 They all have wandered far astray;
        They all to vileness run.
And there is no man doing good,
        No, not a single one.

4. 4 These workers all of wickedness,
        Do they not know at all,
Who eat my people as their bread,
        And on GOD do not call?

5. 5 These are they filled with dread, for God
        Is ever with the just;
6 You'd shame the counsel of the poor;
        Jehovah is his trust.

6. 7 From out of Zion who will save
        And help to Isr'el bring?
The LORD returns His captive folk;
        For this let Isr'el sing.
